Chief Minister Narendra Modi has written a strongly-worded letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in protest against the removal of the topic of terrorism from the agenda of the forthcoming meeting of the National Integration Council (NIC).
He said terrorism has proved to be the biggest challenge to the country, and the security of the innocent citizens was the topmost priority of the Centre as well as the state governments. In such a situation, he said, the removal of terrorism from the agenda hints at ill intentions or perhaps the Centre's lack of seriousness about national security and unity in the face of recurrent terrorist attacks.
Modi reportedly said that terrorism should be the focal agenda in an NIC meeting, as it is a proxy war.You have taken some measures in Gujarat too in this regard?
We have plans wherein a dedicated university would train students for five years after their twelfth. This vast pool of human resources then could be used in a number of areas related to internal security. The university is called Raksha Shakti University. Then a forensics science university is on the anvil where the accent would be on technology and its varied applications in fighting terror.BJP crafted a sharp attack on the Manmohan Singh government with saffron strongman Narendra Modi on Saturday taking a leaf out of US President George Bush's "either you are with us or against us" post 9/11 decree to argue that those against special laws to combat terror were more concerned about terrorists than their victims.
What do you mean whips public opinion? What is wrong if he is asking people to join hands to fight terror, clearly the biased communal central govt. is not at all serious or cares for the lives of the citizens. Modi ji is the only leader in Bharat who is serious about fighting and destroying the menace of terrorism. Biased Indian Media should stop being so critical of Modi ji.

BJP called the three parties "cheerleaders of terrorism" for coming out in support of the SIMI activist arrested in connection with Ahmedabad serial blasts. "The BJP's charge that the UPA and its allies are soft on terror now witnesses conclusive evidence with the visit of MPs Ram Naresh Yadav (Congress), Akbar Ahmad Dumpy (BSP) and Abu Azmi (SP) to the Azamgarh village of Mufti Abu Bashar, the terrorist responsible for blasts in Ahmedabad," BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy told reporters here.
The party was also critical of Syed Ahmad Bukhari, Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid, for accompanying the MPs on their visit. "Congress, BSP and SP have become cheerleaders of terror organizations, groups and individuals who are mercilessly targeting and killing innocents," Rudy said. "Is this overt, disgusting, display of support to elements of terror an attempt to influence the judicial process?" he asked.

A chargesheet has been filed by the ATS against 13 people for their alleged involvement in the serial train blasts in which 187 persons were killed.

Mumbai Police will on Tuesday file chargesheet against 21 alleged members of terror outfit Indian Mujahideen (IM) for hatching here the conspiracy to set off blasts in various cities including Delhi, Bangalore and Surat.
The chargesheet will be filed in the special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court here, public prosecutor Kalpana Chavan said.
The terror group is alleged to have carried out blasts across the country since 2006 including the 2008 serial blasts in Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bangalore and Surat.
Apart from the stringent provisions of MCOCA, the 21 accused will also be charged under Indian Penal Code, Arms Act, Explosives Act, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Information Technology Act.

Riyaz Bhatkal, the mastermind and founder member of IM, and his brother Iqbal Bhatkal are still wanted by Mumbai police.
